About the Plan

The Cupertino Active Transportation Plan builds off the 2024 General Plan Mobility Element, the 2024 Vision Zero Plan, the 2023 Local Roadway Safety Plan, the 2018 Pedestrian Transportation Plan, and the 2016 Bicycle Transportation Plan to prioritize key safety improvements for people travelling in Cupertino.

Once the Cupertino Active Transportation Plan is complete, it will provide:

  • A plan reflecting Cupertino's values, inclusive of all voices
  • A single, unified 5 to 10 year workplan for pedestrian and bicycle projects, prioritized by residents
  • Projects that are cost-effective and close the most critical gaps in the city
  • Clear measurements of success for the future

We are hosting two phases of outreach for this project, one in the spring and one in the fall. Check out our Events tab to find an event that works for you.

After substantial analysis and two phases of public input, followed by public comment on the draft plan, the Cupertino Active Transportation Plan will go to the City Council for adoption in early 2026.
